Foreword by our CEO
Dear reader,
‘I am pleased to present the Royal A-ware Annual Report 2025 - a report prepared in full accordance with the CSRD requirements and reflecting both our financial performance and our commitment to long-term sustainable value creation.
A strong foundation
The year 2025 proved to be a challenging year due to market volatility. Despite the challenging market conditions, which are also reflected in the fact that our results are less favourable than in other years, our business models have proven to be resilient. At the same time, we have continued our investment agenda to further strengthen our solid foundation for the future.
Continuous investment to future-proof our chain
The guiding theme of this year’s report is future-proofing — a principle that has shaped our decisions throughout 2025. We believe that long-term success in our activities requires consistent and forward-looking investment across every link of the chain: from farm to factory, from logistics to partnerships, and from environmental impact to product innovation.
Our ambition is clear: we want to operate a resilient, efficient and sustainable chain that can withstand market volatility and meet evolving customer expectations. Our strategy is to deliver dairy products with the highest possible nutritional value while minimising our impact on people, animals, and the environment. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that long-term value is shared across the entire chain.
Our validated Science Based Targets guide our actions towards reducing our emissions of greenhouse gases. Throughout 2025, we continued to implement measures that reduce emissions in our operations and across scope 3 — including renewable electricity projects, efficiency upgrades, support for carbon-smart farming practices, and closer cooperation with partners to lower emissions in our supply chain. Although our commitment remains firm, this remains a challenge in these turbulent times and continuing expansion of our operations. This commitment is also shown through our continued reporting in accordance with the CSRD legislation.
Our driving force behind future-proof growth
Future-proofing is not only about infrastructure, technology and climate action — most important it is our people. In 2025, we continued to invest significantly in our employees’ development, well-being and long-term employability. Their expertise, craftsmanship and commitment enable us to deliver high-quality products every day and to innovate at the pace the market requires. We strengthened training programmes, expanded leadership development tracks and enhanced workplace safety initiatives.
As a family-owned company, we value a culture in which people feel respected, supported and encouraged to grow. Our colleagues and their dedication are essential to the success of our entire chain.
Partnering for a resilient dairy farming
Future-proofing also means investing in the dairy farmers who form the backbone of our business. I am pleased that also in 2025 we were able to welcome a significant group of new dairy farmers. We continue to support more than 1,700 dairy farmers through knowledge sharing, innovation programmes and financial incentives for sustainable practices. Through our Dairy Academy and our sustainability programmes, we help farmers strengthen biodiversity and animal welfare — essential pillars for the long-term resilience of dairy farming.
Looking ahead
The choices we make today determine the strength of our company tomorrow. As a family-owned organisation, we look beyond short-term results and take responsibility for the health of our value chain over the long term. In 2025, this has meant reinvesting strongly in capacity, technology and people — so that Royal A-ware remains a reliable, innovative and sustainable partner for decades to come.
We thank our employees, dairy farmers, customers and partners for their trust and dedication. Together, we continue to build a future-proof chain that creates value for people, animals and the planet.’
